Tynisa (Ty) Gaines, EA is a project manager and expert writer at TokenTax. She has more than 20 years of experience as a tax professional in settings ranging from retail offices to private EA/CPA firms. Licensed in both tax preparation and audit representation, she has published and been quoted about tax topics in many publications, including Reuters and The Hill. She has also written two tax e-books as well as a scholarly publication on cryptocurrency in the National Income Tax Book, and her work has been featured in Accounting Today. She is currently the Editor-in-Chief for the EA Journal.

Ty has also taught tax courses nationally for EAs and CPAs, Northern Virginia Community College, and the Virginia Tech Income Tax School. She has been interviewed by MarketWatch and has appeared on Barron's Live and the Newscast with Wolf Blitzer.

Ty earned a B.S. in industrial psychology from the University of Illinois and an MPA in public personnel management from Troy University.
